Week 1: Getting to Know Your Body

In week 1, you'll learn the definition and importance of having full functional range of motion in your joints. You'll then be guided through an entire self-assessment series so you know exactly what you need to focus on. You'll then learn fundamental mobility techniques for your specific situation along with some of the most useful and important self-care tools and practices.

Week 2: Aligning Your Lower Body

Next, the focus shifts to your lower body where you’ll learn about the lower body connection of your major joints including your knees, ankles, and hips and how to effectively use mobility and integration movements to transform the range of motion on some of the most important joints and recover full range of motion in your lower body.

Week 3: Aligning Your Upper Body

You'll focus on your upper body next exploring your shoulders, neck, spine, wrists and more to ensure you have access to the proper range of motion you're meant to have to feel great in your body.

Week 4: Aligning Your Movement Patterns

This is where you move away from the static, linear patterns you so often see in the modern environment and robo-gym culture and introduce your body to new rotational and multi-planar movement patterns to help you effectively walk, run, kick, punch and be more athletic and powerful in your body.

Week 5: Aligning Your Nervous System

Once you’ve re-captured your native movement patterns you’ll learn how you can gain control of your autonomic nervous system through tapping into your breath and visual sense with precise tools and mechanics to optimize the way you’re producing yourself at the physiological level.

Week 6: Aligning Your Environment

Contrary to most “fitness programs” that only focus on “gains” at the gym, every single moment, movement and experience is an opportunity to improve. You’ll learn how to orient yourself within your environment (your living room, kitchen, car, workspace, traveling) so that your day-to-day life actually helps form you into a stronger, more flexible, capable and confident human.

Growing up with a body of a confused baby giraffe, a set of crooked teeth, and bowl cut would be challenging for anyone, but things became especially interesting when my home life began to deteriorate.

Around the age of 16, I received a phone call telling me my dad had been sent to prison.

Before that call, the drugs had wreaked so much havoc that I would relentlessly rehearse in preparation for receiving a much bleaker message. (Since that time, I’m grateful to say that he has fully recovered and we have a beautiful relationship.)

With the instability at home, I was desperately looking for some sense of control that I could cling to.

Enter "fitness" (at least, what I thought fitness was) in the form of compensation.

I became obsessed and dove deep into the world of bodybuilding, working out constantly to create a strong body to compensate for the instability at home.

It worked, at least from the outside.

I packed on 60+ lbs of muscle within 18 months and was applauded for how I looked.

Yet inside, I felt insecure, imbalanced, and generally disconnected from my body.

It wasn’t long before my body started breaking down and I started to suffer from dislocating joints and chronic back pain.

That’s when it became clear to me that something needed to change.

I needed to change the way I was treating my body and re-form my definitions of strength and wellness. The ‘normal’ model of fitness wasn’t working.

How is this different from the book?

The Align Method Program is an extension of the book, allowing you to dive deeper into the concepts shared in the book and is a more interactive medium where you can actually see demonstrations of the movements and techniques referenced in the book. Additionally, the book required strict editing so the course allows for much of the content that had to be removed from the written version.

Do I need to read the book before taking the online program?

Nope! Reading the book is an excellent foundation and I’d recommend reading it but the course was designed for you to get results whether you’ve read the book or not.

How much time will this take?

The course was designed with your busy schedule in mind. It’s thoughtfully dripped out one week at a time over the course of six weeks. Each video lesson is short, concise and bite-sized so you can easily consume it, perform it and move on with your day!

Is this all live or pre-recorded?

The curriculum is all pre-recorded so it could be made as concise and valuable as possible while maintaining a high level of production value. The Q&A sessions for each week were live for the Founding Members course so you'll get access to the recordings.
